Avis Rental Cape Town Airport Horrific Service

I rented a vehicle from Avis on the 30th of December 2016. A day before the car was returned, on the 3rd of January, there were very windy conditions in the city. While driving the car, I saw that the wheel cap was slightly loose and not propertly on the wheel but I knew I was returning the vehicle the following day so I ignored it. The same day of the windy conditions, while going to check in at Milnerton, there was a loud bang and the wheel cap came flying off. When I returned the car, I told the agent who said I should write what happened and that I should not worry, because I took the tyre waiver, the damage would be covered under that insurance. I was very relieved to hear that. Then AVIS sends me an sms on the 10th of January (6 days after returning the car) that I have been billed for damages. The sms is all I get from AVIS. No phone call to explain what they are on about and a chance to give me time to get all the clarification I need. When I raise the issue with them, they send an administrator (FASIEGA ROBERTS) to send me e-mails to tell me that NO, the tyre waiver actually EXCLUDES components that are on the TYRE and that I will be billed for the wheel cap that came off. I AM FURIOUS with Avis. They assured me that I would not pay for this and yet they go ahead and bill me anyway. I find this kind of customer service APPALLING to say the least. I will also be going on RADIO with this and making sure that other customers stay clear of this rotten deal with AVIS. I paid insurance to cover any damage on the tyre but AVIS refuses to cover it. Oh and when I asked for my invoice, no one has paid any attention to me, 12 days later, NO INVOICE. This is just PATHETIC service AVIS. I will never use your services again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
