This is for everyone out there that are making use of rental cars or are planning to do so. I worked mostly outside the borders of South Africa and travel a lot and has been making use of Avis rental services over 10 years.I have paid a hefty price for this rental as most of the time using my credit card I have not notice that Avis is charging me for allege damages that I have caused.Even after taking photos and doing the pre- start check list with there representative and noted all the scratches and dents you will still have to pay for the previous client damages and so the previous client will also be billed for the same damages.I just wonder how many out there has been caught this way?If I am only able to reach one potential customer not to use there services and will be happy.Avis has cost me a great deal of money and they are never willing to admit or pay back any money.If you are still willing to take the chance using Avis services beware when taking the vehicle at Oliver Thambo airport,when the vehicle keys is handed to you, you are told that the vehicle has been inspected and there is no scratches or dents.I have never found a vehicle without any damages.Note the poor lighting in the receiving parking lot but another story on the delivery bay where up to 4 representatives will inspect the car with precision.On receiving your vehicle no one to inspect the car with you. Beware, beware, and we beware of AVIS, it will cost you more money that you have bargain for .Never expect to be refunded.
