AVIS professional ******

I took the rental following the loss of my vehicle for 10days until 1st March 2021. The vehicle was delivered at my home and also collected from home. In the 10 days we only drove once to Pretoria West and again to Kempton Park on a highway and tarred road. Upon collection a scratch was detected beneath the front bumper. I indicated to the AVIS guys that we did not check under the car when I collected only around and the visible areas and noted existing scratches on door handles etc. They assured me that they would check the previous rentals records to see if it was listed. I never heard from AVIS and only just got a text to say I have been billed all my deposit for damages. I think this is not only unfair but unprofessional, I did not consent and the AVIS personnel who delivered have not been asked to confirm if they checked that hidden part of the vehicle when I took rental. I have been trying to reach then and keep being put on hold endlessly. I see reviews from clients online it is something they do always, they check more when you return than when they hand over. This is so unexpected and disappointing of such a reputable company like AVIS.
