Avis overcharges rental returns with fueling charges

Booked a rental for 2v days out of JNB airport. Vehicle returned earlier than contracted time of 10am, having driven 130km and filled at the Engen Skystop fueling station to full for the amount of R320.

Upon return, a receipt was issued including a refuelling fee of R41.74 and an additional refuelling charge of R596.71.

This is not the first time that Avis had overcharged for my rentals, particularly out of JNB.

Dear Louis Paulsen,

Thank you for contacting us.

With regards to the matter you have raised, we do not see a charge for fuel being app**** to the rental. No additional charges have been billed.

A copy of your invoice will become available in 24hrs and can be downloaded from https://www.avis.co.za/your-avis/invoices-and-statements/download-invoice

Should you need anything further in the interim, please do let us know.

Thank you,
The Avis Team

Despite multiple requests to provide a finalised invoice showing that the fuel charge was removed, northing but silence was forthcoming. Furthermore, a charge of 4 times the amount quoted is shown on my banking statements as having been deducted.
