Avis - never again

My daughter had to rent a car from Avis (we had no choice) which they dropped off at a panelbeater's. She signed all the documents BEFORE taking possession of the car, so she could not check that all the damage had been noted on the damage sheet. Avis picked the car up without her being present... So when I received a bill for damage and asked for a statement from the agent that all the Avis procedures had been followed to the letter (to confirm that the damage had, in fact, happened when the car was in my daughter's possession and not before or after), they could not or would not. I have now paid for the damage. But will never use them again. Neither will my colleagues.
