Avis is a *******

My car insurer rented me a courtesy vehicle from Avis. The car was picked up from OR Tambo Airport on the 17 Oct 2018 @ 12:18 and returned on the 07 Nov 2018 @ 12:30. As per usual, I was asked to pay a deposit of R1300.00 which I was told was refundable after petrol and eTolls are deducted. The total deductions for fuel, etoll, fuel services and VAT came to R789.35. A refund of R510.65 is supposed to be given back to me.

To this date, four months and some change, after the vehicle was returned to them, Avis has yet to pay back my refund. I have called their accounts department countless number of times and every time I am promised that the money will be in my account within two working days. So far it hasn't happened.

I again rented a car from Avis that I prepaid for on their web site. To my surprise , I found out that I was again charged for this car at the King Shaka Airport when I picked it up. As if that wasn't enough, the holding deposit on my card, for renting the car, hasn't been released back into my credit card and Avis can't confirm whether this has been done or not.

I want to make everyone aware that, I think Avis is running a scheme of ripping it's customers off. I will not rent from Avis, ever again.
