Avis is a no-go!

Shocking service from Avis car rental this morning. We waited over an hour for the rental car to be delivered to the panel beaters. Never arrived. Eventually got through to a very unpleasant, rude, angry individual on the other end of the line who told us that the insurance company had cancelled our booking because Avis apparently didn't have an automatic available. To cut a long story short, turns out it was actually Avis who had gone ahead and cancelled the booking ad lib. No communication, nothing. They literally just left us stranded, all the while blaming the insurance company! Interestingly, the panel beaters told us neither they nor any of their clients use Avis because of their appalling service. Wish we had known sooner. Don't be fooled by big companies and big names!
