AVIS fine print
If you purchase insurance through AVIS to bring charges for windscreen damage down to R0, the fine print in the AVIS rental agreement contains the following clause:
CLAIMS ADMIN FEE: R150 IF REPAIRS UP TO R300. R500 IF REPAIRS GREATER THAN R300.
Is it legal to charge an "admin fee" of R500 if the actual damages amount to R300?

An administration fee is charged in all instances where a claim needs to be processed in respect of any damage whatsoever, loss of or theft of the vehicle.
