AVIS Day light *******

OK. Tell me if I'm wrong here but I think this is ridiculous.

Over the easter weekend I urgently needed an H1 Van at Mpumalanga International Airport and my normal supplier was out. After calling around numerous times I finally got one through AVIS.

I initially set it up that a friend was going to make payment on her credit card. They advised that she would have to go into any AVIS branch 72 hours before to make the payment on her card. This didn't work out and 72 hours before I changed it to pay with my credit card on collection date at Mpumalanga International Airport.

Here is the problem: 1.) In the Initial payment setup (friend's credit card) I got quoted R4071.66 for 3 full days rental + R7500 deposit which would be paid back to the card being used. 2.) After changing the payment setup (to my credit card) I received another quote of R9558.34 for full 3 days + R2500 deposit which would be paid back to my card.

**How can there be such a major cost difference just because it's a different payment/card setup? A R5000 difference???? This makes no sense!**

3.) The person at the AVIS branch told me he doesnt know why 4.) The contact centre agents use nonsensical lingo like proforma rates and blah blah, but still fail to tell me how the price differences are high between the two quotes. 5. ) I have emailed them 7 days ago but still received no response! This is quite pathetic considering that I paid R10k for a vehicle for 3 days.

Highly dont recommend anyone using AVIS for any vehicle rental!
