Avis Cheats Us Out of Thousands

I obtained a quote with AVIS for our trip to Italy in August. The quote came to R25,766. When we arrived in Rome we decided to take the car back to AVIS two days earlier on the 12th of August instead of the scheduled date of the 14th of August . We caught a train into the city of Rome and had to lug our heavy luggage through the boiling hot heat to our hotel. When we arrived back from Italy Avis had invoiced us for the full 14 days instead of the 12 and not only that all of a sudden the amount was R42,592. The amount is THOUSANDS OF RANDS MORE! The price should be cheaper than the quote and NOT thousands of Rands more! We have had to rent a car in the meantime and AVIS refused to allow rental until the FULL amount of R42,592 was paid. We are now THOUSANDS of Rands out of pocket. AVIS are refusing to deal with this matter. AVIS is a very dishonest company and they will cheat you out of your hard earned cash.
