AVIS Charging for KMs never driven!!!

<p>I went up to Johannesburg for my son's baseball tournament. We rented a car from Avis for the period of 5 days and with the 1st 1000kms free. I calculcated that the amount would probably come down to about R4000 for the period.</p> <p>Upon picking up the car, I drove from OT Airport to Pretoria, then on the Johannesburg and for the rest of the time I mostly stayed in Johannesburg as that is where the baseball tournament was and I went to watch my son every day. On the Monday night before our flight back I took a quick trip to Centurion.</p> <p>On the day of our flight back (Tuesday), I filled up the petrol tank for the first time. The tank was half full. This was the only time that I had to fill up the tank.</p> <p>Upon my return I was shocked to see that AVIS had charged me a per km rate for almost 4000KMs that I had supposedly driven. This is shocking. It is either ***** (i.e. someone drove with the car after I had handed it in or gross incompetence!)</p>
