Avis Car Rentals: Opportunists

My insurance had arranged a courtesy vehicle for me with Avis and upon returning the car it was inspected and no faults were found. One week later my deposit was short paid. Upon enquiring, I was told that I was billed for using their etag which is not true because I removed their etag and used my own. They insisted that this is what I am charged for which is incorrect. Upon enquiring, I was directed to the customer care centre, a lady emailed an Avis statement to me showing that I used the etag registered to the rented vehicle. How is that possible when I have my own statements showing my own etags were in use during that period. It's shocking how documents are so easily falsified. The consultant advised me that she will lodge a dispute which will take 2-3 working days. It's sad that honest customers are being taken advantage off. I would not recommend Avis Car rentals.
