Avis Car Rental - Poor Service

Avis tried to dump a so called R100 "documentation fee" surcharge on my rental agreement which I refused to accept. I asked the Manager at the Port Elizabeth office where I collected my car to forward my concern and refusal to their Head Office. I received absolutely NO FEEDBACK from Avis. This fee was only waivered after I involved my insurance company !!!

Also, I returned my rental car on the 8 June 2020 and I had to wait for almost two weeks before they repaid my R1,350 deposit. Why ? Surely a deposit refund should not take longer than 2 or 3 days ??? Is this a money making racket by Avis ? If they do this to 200 customers on a rolling basis they have a nice little "sideline business" ! So be careful whom you choose to do business with in the car rental industry. I had to use them because my insurance company do business with them.
