AVIS CAR HiRE malpractice

On 16 January 2024 I rented a polo from Avis at OR Tambo International Airport for a period of 30 days. On collection of the vehicle at around 20h00 I was sent to the parking bay where the vehicle was parked and I showed the car with spare wheels and so on and told that there damages on the vehicle had already captured on the system. Of course they said I must inspect the vehicle. I looked at the vehicle and I saw that it was in good condition. I drove the car for a day to work and when driving over speed ramps there was some annoying noise on the suspension and I took it to the branch in pretoria for them to check. Unfortunately the consultants there were not even interested to check and one of the ladies then suggested that I should return it to OR Tambo because they do not have any VW Polo in Pretoria for rental and so is their Menlyn branch. Because of my commitments for the week I couldn't go to OR Tambo and had to drive the vehicle as it was for the entire duration of the lease. To my surprise when I returned the vehicle on 15 February 2024, the vehicle was inspected and the person who was inspecting the vehicle appeared clearly to be looking of a what he calls a dent on the left doors, and he then suggested to me that I must stand in a particular angle then I will see a dent. The dent which I could not see and could have been expected to see when I fetch the car. I told him that in my possession the car could never have had any dent given where I was parking it, especially because I was driving to many places in Gauteng knowing that VW polo is a target for car *******.

Nevertheless, the vehicle was recorded to have acquired a dent in my possession. Despite Stull maintaining that I do not even see the said dent, the company billed me over R4384.78 plus VAT for such and because they had access to account they took the about. I raised a query on 19 February 2024 and oy to receive an arrogant response on 19 March 2024 telling me that the vehicle had damages. I had to drive with a car that had a defective or unserviced suspension at the costs of around R11000 which includes the super waiver and also had to pay the amount of over R4000 for a debt only they could see. And when I ask for the invoice since they claim to have repaired the vehicles they fail to give same. They only sent me some quotations with no details of what dent it is.

I lost trust in Avis and I do not see their conduct as being ethical of a reputable company I expected them to be. Since they claim to be doing rigorous inspection on their vehicles, I challenge the to look at the photos of the vehicle when it was returned by the renter who had it before me and the pictures of the same door on the day I took the vehicle.
