Avis - Bunch of ****** trying to exploit people
it's really unfortunate that I have had to made use of Avis again. But it's unfortunately FNB Ebucks' only partner i.t.o car rentals. If Ebucks had other options I would I would never use Avis again. I booked a car from Avis via Ebucks for the 12th to 15th of April. So full payment is usually made on the ebucks travel website. When I get to Avis they reserve a deposit for the period of rental. I picked up the car on the 12th at about 5PM and was returned Monday just after 5PM after my husband dropped me off at the bus portal at Menlyn Mall. I catch a bus from there to Lephalale where I’m currently residing and working. The Friday when I picked up the car it was pouring. The gentleman who assisted me and I tried to do an inspection but we failed to do so because of the rain. I however in my passing picked up a big chip on the front left door. He indicated that, that was captured. We didn’t go through the inspection list at all and he didn’t hand me a copy so I’m not sure what was captured and what wasn’t. He said he would make a note that we couldn’t inspect due to the rain. I told Trevor to just make that known to whoever assists him. After dropping the car and having done an inspection my husband send me a VN of a small scratch he and the lady who checked in the car picked up. She told him it’s small and not an issue. They couldn't even see the chip I was referring to on the door. He left there with only that discussion and knowledge. I received my Credit card statement yesterday. when I went through it I picked up a charge of R1737.50 from Avis. Went to my emails opened the invoice. I've been billed for Accidental Repairs. I phone Avis. The lady tells me about the bumper having to be fixed. What? When did this all of a sudden surface. Because even when the car was dropped off and the inspection was done it didn't exist. I had to learn a few weeks later from a Credit card charge there was suddenly an issue. And after I disputed it yesterday I finally got a courteous text telling me what I already new, that I was charged for damages of R1737.50 To top it all off this morning at 4h00 I got another charge of R325. I'm truly done with Avis Menlyn and their bull****. This has now happened way too often I’m expected to take responsibility for someone else’s incompetence/negligence once again. It’s not the first time that I’ve been a victim of someone else not doing what they were supposed to. Last time I checked the car in after 3 days (which I rented it for). I was billed for 8 days.
