Avis Budget debiting my account instead of paying me

On the 14/04/22 I was involved in a car accident, on the 16/04/22 my insurance king price arrange for me to collect a car from Avis budget Pretoria central. I had to pay R2780 which I paid so I returned the car on the due day and it was in a good condition. I was suppose to be refunded R1102.33 within 48 hours but instead they debited my account R1677.67. So I contacted Avis and on the 2nd of June I was copied on a mail from Enock Nkosi stating that I need to be paid R2780 and He said I will get the money within 48 hours. I called for follow up and no one could help me. I spoke to someone who said i should go to the bank as money was paid so when i got to the bank I was told no money was paid by Avis. On the 6th of June Deon Moodley send a mail to John Dube to contact me Today is the 8th of June and John Dube hasn't contacted me. I have to call Avis every week in order to get my money and no one is able to assist me.

Hi Tswaledi,

Please be advised that a request was sent to our merchant bank with regards to obtaining the amounts held by Avis and their authorisation codes.

Our bank confirmed that Avis is no longer holding funds on your card. This means that they were released back into the available balance. Please note that these funds will not reflect on the bank statement as a deposit or a refund as they were not banked by Avis. They will only increase your available balance at the time of release furthermore, we do not have the date of release because the bank deems this as confidential and there will not be proof of payment as if you look on your bank statement you will see there is no proof of debit therefore there will be no credit.

You can contact your card division or general banker for any further queries.
