I hired a vehicle at Avis Barloworld Toyota in Centurion on the 25th of October 2017,vehicle was hired for 30 days then further extended the vehicle for 3 days. An arrangement was made have the vehicle delivered at Auto Magic (Centurion)where i took ownership of the car for the next 33 days. The vehicle Inspection was not done, Avis sent their consultant named MK to deliver the vehicle, i paid the deposit to him using the card system and he gave me the key then showed me that the vehicle was on full tank. MK did not have a lift back to the office and he asked me to drop him off with the same vehicle that i had hired. I was not impressed that A reputable company such as Avis will send a consultant to deliver the vehicle and not provide a shuttle service for that employee. Needless to say i gave him a lift and the guy gave me his office number and his cellphone number and said when i return the vehicle i can phone and he will assist me. 33 days later i took the vehicle back, MK dropped Thabo off who was suppose to pick up my rented vehicle. Thabo asked for an inspection sheet, i was puzzled as i did not know what sheet he was talking about. He then went ahead to inspect the car, he lifted the windscreen wipers only to find that it had a chip. He then said i'm going to be charged for it, i was suprised as to why did he just go straight to lift the windscreen. Why was this not done before i took ownership of the vehicle for the next 33 days? Could it be that the chip was there hence the inspection was not done?now that i'm taking the vehicle back i get to pay for something that was never brought to my attention?
Thabo and i did not agree on that point and he promised to call me when he got to the office which he did and asked that i drop in at their offices and i did but that trip was a waiste because we were still in disagreement and he ended up calling MK to resolve his mess and MK was *****. Thabo handed the query to The supervisor or Manager( Nicole), she asked MK what was happening and MK admitted that he forgot to inspect the vehicle with me when he delivered that vehicle at the venue. Nicole then said to me the matter will be investigated and i will be given feedback on it. 2 days later i received an Sms from my bank that R1091.09 was debited in my account by Avis. I was still waiting for feedback on the investigation and boom she just authorized to have the money debited from my account. Avis has ****** me, did not do an inspection on the vehicle, promise to do an investigation next thing boom money off my account. Mind you i have not yet even received the money that inpid towards the deposit if this vehicle but I've already paid for something that does not even have evidence that i did it. I would not have a problem paying for it if only it can be proved that the vehicle had no chip when it was given to me. I did not take the vehicle at one of the Avis branch, that vehicle was delivered to me. It was driven by Avis representatives, anything could have happened on the road. All i'm asking is for Avis to prove that they gave me the vehicle without the windscreen chip under the wiper if that cannot be proven then this has no evidence and avis has no right to charge me because this might have happened anywhere.I'm still waiting for the investigations findings by Nicole. She was just quick to authorize a charge yet fails to prove and give feedback on the investigations findings
