Avis - A very dirty story

Rented a car from Cape Town Airport branch 21 to 24 March 2019. First car not cleaned and stank like someone threw up in it. Unacceptable. Returned it next morning & exchanged it for other one (same model). Next car also dirty (as in seriously dirty outside which they claim is standard now due to a lack of water) but at least did not stink. When we returned it lady pointed out small scratch on left sidestep - note not on body of the car, on the dirty sidestep (it was a Fortuner). Could not see it through dirt to start with although we walked around the car when we got it. Now of course Avis claims "damages". Renters beware! Cape Town Avis is bad news - they use the excuse of "no water on Cape Town" to hide damage on their cars & then charge you for it. There are many other rental agencies in Cape Town, make use of them. PS: I am sure if it happened to us it has happened/is happening to many others as well...
