I recently rented a car from Avis for 3 days. I booked through the Ebucks website where I got a discount due to the level i am on. According to the Ebucks website this amount includes the contract fee as well as VAT.

When I got to Avis Menlyn the guy asked me for the reference number and he said an amount and I said no I paid this because I got a discount so he said okay. He took a very long time to get the contract and we were in a rush. He didn't tell as anything or ask to include optional waivers and the final ampunt included the contract fee and VAT on the contract. Unfortunately I signed and we left.

The car was returned on the 6th. Today is the 17th of Jan and I am still awaiting the reversal of the deposit. Further to this they subtracted the waiver fees which I did not ask for. There was nothing missing from the car and the car was just dirty and had no damage to it. On top of that they charge VAT on these amounts.

From the reviews it seems like they are doing this to lots of their customers and I think it's absolutely horrible and *********. Someone needs to look into Avis. I will never book with them ever again.
