We had a very bad experience at Aves Lodge Cullinan. Our family went there for my parents 45th wedding Anniversary. What should of been a weekend of celebration was a weekend of continuous struggle. Upon arrival where where informed that only 1 bathroom is in working order and also only 1 of the 2 fridges. This was already a red flag as we where 6 adults and 4 children. During the first night the power went out. The next morning we discovered that the house runs from solar with a small battery that is supposed to give power to the geyser as well. The power came on at 11:00 after the sun charged the battery. We then switched on the geyser from 13:00 - 14:00 to heat up water for the kids and that drained the battery again. We where without power from then until the next day we left. Andre the owner offered to run a generator for 2 hours but this was only for lights. We had a constant struggle to heat up water in pots on the gas stove to bath and for hot water to wash dishes. Because of the fridges that was barely on, we had food going off. After informing Andre the only feedback was "special families does not let circumstances get them under". Not even an apology. Pathetic!!
