Where is my Title Deed that was delivered to AV Dawson on 30 Sept 2020?

AV Dawson & Co has caused me immense stress. I paid off our bond in March 2020 and these attorney's who are the bond attorneys for SAHL are required to obtain our Title Deed from the Deeds Office.

I had to pay their fee upfront, which was duly done in early March 2020. I submitted proof of payment as well as all of the requested documentation. All of this was in their possession since mid March 2020. I was informed that the matter would be registered with the Deeds Office and that I would receive our Title Deed within 6 to 8 weeks.

To my horror is is now 7 months later and still we have not received our Title Deed. After month of correspondence and phone calls nothing was achieved and I was fed the company line: "We are still waiting on the Deeds Office - we will check with them again".

After shunning my calls and blocking my e-mails I threatened to take the case to the media. I received a document from Dawson & Co (extract from the Deeds Office Tracking system) indicating that the Title Deed was delivered on 30 Sept 2020. Dawson & Co deny receiving the document. All attempts to obtain the Title Deed (which I am forced to do through these attorneys), have failed.

They refuse to provide me with proof that this matter has in fact been taken up with the Deeds Office or that they have made any attempts to locate the document.

We are in the process of selling our currently property and purchasing a new property. Neither of these transactions can take place without this very important Title Deed.

As a result of this internal fumbling, the sale and repurchase has adversely affected three families.

My advice, steer very clear of this firm if you can.!
