Voorttrekker road branch lying about battery warranties.

This is for AutoZone in Voortrekker road. The person who assisted me is called "Shiraaz" as per the slip.

We bought a Sabat battery from them less than 2 years ago, these have a 25 month warranty, this battery failed early on in January an we went in to AutoZone to get it replaced.

I was told that the battery could not be replaced, as we would have to wait for the Sabat rep who could be coming by in the next two weeks. Obviously this would not work for us as my fiance needs the vehicle to get to work.

They told us the only option is that we buy another battery, I asked if we can return the battery once ours is replaced in the next two weeks and was denied. He said we can return out "old" battey and get a R300 discount on the R1600 battery we have to buy, as it was "probably not under warranty anyway.

I bought the new battery and my fiance returned with our failed Sabat battery, she asked them to check the warranty and one of the guys went to the back, stood in between the racks of items for a few seconds and came back saying it is not under warranty... She asked them to show her where they see the warranty has expired, as he was gesturing to his PC screen saying it is out of warranty. They didn't give her any dates or warranty information.

We left the battery there and when the rep eventually came he confirmed it was under warranty.

This battery was then replaced, and when I went to pick it up yesterday asking Shiraaz what I should do with an extra battery now since I was strong-armed into buying an additional one while my battery was still under warranty, he told me that I WANTED to spend R1600 rand on a battery I don't need, and that he offered us a loan battery. This is a blatant lie. He never offered any loan battery, he told us all we can do is buy a battery. So first they **** about our battery not being under warranty and then they wanted us to hand in the battery that was still under warranty for a meager discount, then they **** about offering us a loan battery!!

There are some very shady dealings going on here. I can only presume that they intended to do the warranty claim and keep the new battery to re-sell. If not that then they just clearly don't give a **** about their customers.
