Sold me a wrong regulator

On the 14th of March I visited Autozone in Newlands to buy a regulator , but i took a sample the old one , i spoke to a lady and I gave her the sample to match , I bought it when came home i just replace the new one so On Sunday i took my family to crest so while i was riding the i kept on losing power when it was time to go home the could move i had to call a tow truck to come pull me so i took so i took the car to the mechanic he said the Alternator has been damaged , i told him i only replace the regulator he took it out and he said that not the correct on , i brought the old one , the new had no fuse like thing on the side and the old one had that fuse thing and that's the reason your alternator was damage ,so had repair the alternator
