TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE AT STARND AUTOWORKS! My car developed huge problems the day after a service with them.

I took my car in for its annual service. It was in very good condition, never had any problems and it just needed its regular service. Two days later I broke down on the side of the road. I took it back to autoworks and Bruce was incredibly rude and defensive. They said the problem had nothing to do with the service they did on my car and they quoted R6 500 just to strip the engine and diagnose the problem (any work to fix the car would be in addition to this). I took my car to Ford as I was not comfortable with autoworks working on it anymore.

It cost me over R40 000 to fix!!

The problem was caused by a crack in the radiator. I find it incredibly strange that the problem arose the day after it had been in for a service. Never before had it given any problems. Even if the problem had nothing to do with the work they did on my car, I take my car for regular services to ensure it stays reliable and safe. Autoworks did definitely not return my car is a reliable condition.

Interestingly, since this incident I have spoken to 2 other people who had the same experience with Strand autoworks. Within a week of a regular service their car developed other problems which cost them thousands to fix.

I will never use autoworks again and I advise you to think carefully before you use them.
