We were approached by a gentleman to say he knew of a lady who would be interested in renting some rooms from us on a monthly basis at our guest house. She would then list them on her Air Bnb and Booking.com portals and send guests. Without a discussion she then sublet these rooms to other businesses (that then paid the monthly rental). Our agreement was that she would take 4 rooms for 6 months. We trusted that she was a reputable business women. After 2 months she and her partners decided they were not getting the returns they expected (not our fault, as she had them listed on her own portals) so it was up to her to market the rooms. She then sent an email on the 3rd July to say she will pay for the current guest that are booked through her and that's it. In the meantime she was due to pay for 4 rooms for the whole month of July. No notice, we must just accept this. She would not budge, we stated we would hand her over legally if she did not pay by a certain date and time. She was now no longer answering our messages or calls. Then all of a sudden she tries to book a unit. So we stated until the rooms are paid, she will not be able to book. We then amended invoices and told her she can pay for what was booked. Then she decides, the extra amenities and items she wanted in our rooms, wine glasses, new wall pictures, emergency lights, microwave, lock boxes and some other remote to open our main gate should be deducted from this new total. We stated we do not want these items and that she should come and collect and pay our balance. She now states that she feels threatened and that we name called and her she fears to come onsite. Which is very far fetched. We have all our conversations and we can prove no abusive took place. Please be careful if you have any dealings with Automated Stays. They do not conduct ethical business.
