<p>I bought a vehicle from the second hand dealer at autohaus vw in Centurion. Drove the car for 3 months +_ 9000km. On the day of the paint run at Waterkloof the car which was a stronic lost all gears, accept 2nd, 4th and 6th. Took the car back to audi Centurion so that they could have a look. Audi told me that the gearbox must be replaced and are ordering one. I asked autohaus for a vehicle which they loaned me. </p> <p>I drew the cars history from autohaus to see if the gearbox has given issues before and 2015 there was major work done and a clutch changed on the gearbox. The car when I bought it had 116000 km on. Vw never informed me of the problem on the gearbox and changed the decision to replace the gearbox to repairing it. </p> <p>I would have kept the car if it was replaced. </p> <p>They tried to sell me another car but I lost trust in the company. They told me they didn't know and cannot acess the history on the car, it's not on their system but one of their salesmen drew it off their system for me. </p> <p>I told them to cancel the contract which is my right according to the consumer protection act at their cost whereby they traded in the vehicle and gave me R24000 less than what I bought the car for. They also wanted me to pay in R17300 plus R6000 to end the contract. I paid the money to get the contract ended. The R6000 I said I would pay to repair the gearbox but there was no paperwork for the R17300 to say what it was for. </p> <p>After going to see the manager of the department 3 times and empty promises of getting back to me I called the DP. The department manager came back to me to say they will refund my R6000 for the gearbox repair which I said that was discussed and what was owed to them for the gearbox repair. They said they won't refund my R17300 take it or leave it on which my reply was I will send this letter on hello Peter and take it further with the ombudsman. My costs towards the vehicle was R24000 lost with their trade in, R17300 to end the contract, R6000 to repair the gearbox and R12000 in premiums I paid. TOTALR59300 for a vehicle I drove 3 months. </p>
