Autohaus Centurion record of 8 times to try to fix 2 problems!!

My question this afternoon is, how many times does a vehicle owner need to take his vehicle back to a dealer for the same problem.

My story starts during December 2016. My vehicles left door lock only locked intermittently. Sometimes it locks and sometimes it did not lock. I took my VW Jetta to Autohaus Centurion (VW) in December, just before my holiday started. I explained the entire intermittently lock story to the service consultant. That afternoon they phoned me to come and collect my vehicle. The service consultant explained that they did run a diagnostic test and reset all the fault messages. I asked to talk to the service manager and explained that I am going on holiday and if the vehicle does not lock that it is a security risk. He told me exactly the same story as the service consultant did.

I departed on my holiday and everything was fine for the first part of our trip. After a day the vehicle started to do exactly the same as previous. It was so bad that sometimes it took me up to 30 min before the door locked. Sometimes when we stopped at places somebody needed to stay with the vehicle because it did not want to lock at all.

Back from holiday I took the vehicle back to Autohaus Centurion and found that the service manager himself was on holiday. The person that stood in for him was very helpful and told me he knows exactly what the problem is. He immediately asks the service consultant to order the part for me and to phone me when the part arrives. Two weeks went by without a call from anybody at Autohaus Centurion.

I phoned to find out whats is going on and ask to talk to somebody higher than a service manager. I was very surprised when somebody phoned me within 10min to tell me to bring my vehicle in the next day. I told this person that I am out of town and that I will only be available that Friday. The Friday came and I took my vehicle in. At first, they could not find my booking and told me my booking was for the previous day. This after I told them I will only be available the Friday. I was very thankful when they made a plan to help me the same day. I informed the service consultant that one of my real lights is also not working and asked if they would look at that problem as well.

That afternoon I was informed by the service consultant that they will order the parts and that I need to make another appointment for them to fix my vehicle. However according to the consultant they did fix the light.

After I collected my vehicle the light was working fine for a day or two and after that started with the same problem. When they phoned me to inform me that the part did arrive and that I may bring my vehicle in for them to fit the new lock, I informed them that light are still doing the as before the “fixed” it. I took the vehicle to Autohause Volkswagen (Centurion) and a mirracle happened. The lock of my vehicle was at long last replaced. The service consultant also informed me that there were a loose connection at the problem light and that the fixed it.

The next day when I drove my vehicle out of my garage what will I see, the same warning light for a light bulb that is not functianal lit up on my vehicles dashoard. I took a video of the dashboard as well as the light at the back to show them the problem.

Ones again I had to phone them to make an appointment for them to try to fix my vehicle. Everytime I have to take my vehicle to Autohause Centurion, sit for a day without a vehicle and they are not able to fix my vehicle. Lucally they told me that I can bring the vehicle in that Santerday. Saterday came and I look my vehicle in for the fourth time for them try and fix my light. That afternoon I was phoned by a service consultant to tell my that I can come and collect my vehicle. Accourding to him it was just a bulb that was blown. I collected my vehicle took it home and evrything was working fine, untill I started it the next morning. What did I find, the warning light on my dashboard is warring me again about the light. At further inspection I found that the same light are ones again not working…

A few day after a lady phones me to enquire about my service experience from Autohaus Centurion.I told er the same long sad story and I gave the a rating of 1 out of 10. The lady asked me if I will mind if a service manager contact me, my response was that I allready spoke to servive manager and I stillhave the problem. She promised me that somebody will be in contact with me.

Well that was almost two weeks ago and still no call from Autohaus Centurion.
