Autohaus Monti & BMW South Africa!
Do Not take your vehicle to the BMW delearship in East London, Autohaus Monti.
I had the worst experience and still a victim to date as a result of this dealership! They told me my car was ready for collection, after I paid R27434.22 for them to fix my pulley and overheating. When I collected the vehicle I had no doubt all was in order as this is a BMW dealership , but after driving from the dealership I got the exam same alarm and car was now actually overheating and leaking!
When I called in to inform the consultant,Jaycee Coetzee he was not prepared to assist in towing the car back to the dealership and his manager instructed us to drive the car back to the dealership! Under that instruction we drove back.
At the dealership they gave us three different new quotes, and all conflicting reasons as to why the car was giving us the same issue it had when it was brought in. All the work they had indicated that they had done as per the quote was not done. We spent the whole day at the dealership and each time we left we came back with the car and it still was overheating! We ended up sleeping over in East London.
The service manager never came out to address us, he walked passed us and made no eye contact even though we sat there the whole day. The next day we were at the dealership at 8am and the service manager was so belligerent and disputatious. He told us to seek legal counsel as he had already spent money on his parts and labor so no reimbur*****t was due to us. He then continued to tell us that "they" should have never touched our car. and that was it!
We had to tow our car back to Johannesburg, R3000 Cost. We had to tow it to Autobavaria Midrand, R1200 Cost. We had to diagnose it again, R1200 Cost. We received two new quotes from Autobavaria R21000 & R77000. Our head gasket had burst as a result of driving the car from and to the dealership!
BMW South Africa whom we thought governs the BMW franchises told us they could not force the dealership to fix the car. The DP Clarence Mgandi when emailed , simply apologised for the inconvenience caused and suggested that we authorise Auto Bavaria to fit a new engine at our cost.
Our car has been standing since and we feel so ****** and helpless because if BMW South Africa cannot reprimand incompetence and ********** activity then where do we run to? Rodney Gravett the service manager, treated us with such sense of superiority that I wondered if he did so because we were blacks.
Please consider the above when you make a purchase or consider servicing your car at the Autohaus Monti BMW. To this day I cannot believe that such an establishment like BMW would not have control over such cases.
