Request a full DEKRA report from this dealer when buying a car as they cannot be trusted. Worst dealership to purchase a used vehicle from.
I dealt with Douw from Autocity – Heidelberg regarding purchasing another vehicle a year earlier, as the one I had previously purchased from him had persistent problems from day one. In the year of owning that vehicle I drove it for a total of 3 months, the rest of the time it was in the workshop. After having received a quotation from Renault stating that the repairs required to the vehicle would cost more than R140 000,00, Douw agreed to pass a credit on the vehicle for me and not refund me as he obviously did not want to lose the sale. I agreed to this but was specific in what I wanted as the previous time I requested an accident free vehicle I was assured the Renault was an we found out that it had in fact been involved in an accident. My request for an accident free vehicle with a FSH was for two main reasons: • I wanted to ensure that I was spending worthwhile money on a well maintained, accident free vehicle so that I may retain value for resale purposes as well as not have to expend ridiculous repair costs over the normal wear and tear items associated with a well-cared for vehicle. This vehicle was brought to me at night to inspect and I have again been duped by this dealership into buying a vehicle that is not what I was after. I was assured each time I raised a concern that this car was mint and that I would not find one in this condition, only to discover the chassis is full of body putty. I do not want an accident damaged vehicle and do not want one that does not have a FSH with the vehicle. I have no comfort that this vehicle has even been correctly serviced at the required times, nor am I confident that the wear and tear of items on this vehicle will be within the normal expectations, as well as sit with a vehicle that has skew body panels. This vehicle is not worth the money spent yet again. This vehicle also had pirate headlights put on after Douw told me his driver was collecting the headlights from BMW.
This is the second vehicle I have been sold that is in fact accident damaged after having requested on both occassions that I want an accident free vehicle.
Despite reported issues not even 1 month after purchasing the vehicle and being assured that these issues were fixed by Douw, I have now had to replace the said parts which were previously reported as issues to the tune of over R16000.00 Secondly I was assured the vehicle was having a major service and also had a FSH... To date 6 months later I still do not have proof of this nor the FSH. Douw - The Dealer Principal, has subsequently stopped responding to my messages and thus I will not deal with him any further. I have lodged a complaint again with the Motor Industry Ombudsman and will be seeking legal representation in this regard.
