Auto City worst place to buy a vehicle

On the 16th of Feb 2024 I bought a bakkie from Auto City – Kia Nigel. Bertus and Tommy.

16th of April the bakkie broke down and it was towed to Nissan VDBP, according to Nissan SA it had to go to the nearest Nissan dealer. Keep in mind that the bakkie has 110666km on the clock and is still under Nissan Warranty.

Nissan VDBP was supposed to strip and send the gearbox to Mayfair for repairs, after a week with numerous calls up and down they still did not strip the gearbox. On the 24t April my partner went to Nissan Nigel part of Auto City group to complain about no work done to my bakkie and I was still without transport, she explained the situation to Carel(manager) and he said that they don’t use Mayfair at all anymore because of poor work. He then said that he will assist with a courtesy vehicle while they move the bakkie from VDBP to Nigel for the strip and repair. At first I insisted on a new gearbox because this bakkie is still under warranty, but Carel then said that they cannot replace the gearbox.

30th April the gearbox was sent in, and they confirmed that the 6th gear was faulty, and it needed to be replaced. 8thMay Carel send us the ETA on the part that they need to complete the repairs. First ETA received was 31/05.

We did a follow up first week of June with no feedback from Carel. Second ETA received was for the 16/06 and the part is still not available in SA, without a new ETA.

I did call Carel and said they must cancel the purchase he then said he didn't sell me the vehicle but Tommy did i called Tommy and he came back to me on 21/05 and said they wil not cancel the purchase he will cal me with feedback on 24/05 but that didn't happen there is no response from them and they don't want to take the bakkie bqck. I am bussy with wesbank to cancel the purchase. My worst mistake ever was to purchase any vehicle at Auto city group
