*********** Service and Unprofessional Conduct at Autoboys in Gezina

Dear HelloPeter,

I am compelled to share my distressing experience with Autoboys in Gezina (South Africa, Gauteng) to prevent others from facing similar ordeals. Two months ago, my insurance directed me to Autoboys for a windscreen replacement. The series of events that followed have been nothing short of a nightmare.

1. Incorrect and *********** Service: Initially, Autoboys brought the wrong windscreen, not once, but twice. The correct windscreen was only brought on the third attempt, but was poorly fitted, leading to immediate problems.

2. Water Leakage and Resulting Damage: Shortly after the installation, it rained, and water leaked into the vehicle, affecting the front camera dashboard, steering wheel column, gear lever area, and seats. Despite my immediate report of these issues, the response from Autoboys was dismissive. Yvonne from Autoboys assured me that the leakage would be fixed promptly and would not cause further damage.

3. Further Vehicle Malfunctions: Before the leakage could be addressed, my car exhibited serious electrical malfunctions, including a persistently sounding alarm that drained the battery overnight. All steering wheel buttons and indicators got disabled after this. The engine malfunctioned to the extent that it would not shut off.

4. Lack of Professional Diagnosis and Response: I sought a full diagnostic from Allen Joss Ford, which suggested initial repairs. Despite informing Autoboys and escalating to Joanne Halliday, their response was delayed and dismissive. They re**** on an unprofessional report from Allen Joss Ford, communicated to them instead of directly to me, suggesting the malfunctions were not water-related without a thorough investigation.

5. Unprofessional Conduct by Allen Joss Ford and Autoboys: Despite Allen Joss Ford initially denying water damage, a subsequent report casually mentioned the possibility after I reiterated the issues. This report, still unprofessionally drafted in a Word document, was not based on a complete assessment. Furthermore, Joanne Halliday had the windscreen refitted by Autoboys without my consent, presumably to concal the initial poor installation, yet claimed no responsibility for the damages citing the initial flawed report.

6. Dismissal of Claims and Suspected **************: Autoboys, relying solely on the initial Allen Joss Ford report and disregarding their inspector's findings, refused to acknowledge their role in the vehicle's damage. This, coupled with their overall handling of the situation, leads me to feel discriminated against and unfairly treated.

7. The entire experience has been appalling. The lack of professionalism, accountability, and transparency from Autoboys Gezina and Allen Joss Ford has not only resulted in significant inconvenience but also distrust in their services, particularly given how these matters have been handled.

I urge potential customers to be wary of Autoboys Gezina and hope that this issue receives the attention it desperately requires.

Kind regards,
