consumer watch : Auto Trader shady business practice dooping competition contestants

Do not use Auto Trader they are the most dsipicable ********* business around

they recently held a competition where by the rules state that one must submit a picture with a car Aptly called a "carfie "

one had to think out the box and highlight the Autrader name with concepts with a car

now on friday they released the winning concept but to everyones surprise the winner WAS A VIDEO ENTRY which goes against thier own rules and is in fact not valid

many contestants have as a result complained and i believe now on updates Autotrader has **** saying the video entry is not the winning Entry and hav stated the winner won as result of how many times they entered

sounds like a deflection tactic as most entrants have pointed out the winners photo entries where nowhere near winning material

futher to that within the competitoon rules its does not state that one would benefit entering multiple times

its does say one can submit as many ideas as you like BUT KNOW WHERE DOES IT STATE THAT THE AMOUNT OF TIMES ONE ENTERS WOULD HAVE ANY BENEFICIAL BARING ON THE OUTCOME

IE : ITS NOT THE AMOUNT OF ENTRIES THAT DETERMINES THE WINNER

so its clear here that we seen Auto trader are clearly lying . they announced a Video entry as a winning Entry when the competition states PICTURE IE CARFIE ONLY

NOW THAT entrants are called them out they are back tracking trying to say the winner won because they entered the most AGAIN NOT A VALID JUSTIFICATION

now the bigger question is and i believe the reason for the outrage and one would imagine the why competitions have clear guidelines via consumer protection for rules within such competitions is to ensure fairness

this whole situation casts a shadow over the repuation of Auto trader it indicates that Auto trader have not considered thier own rules and have simply ignored them and it begs the question why would any so called reputable business act in such a way

could it be the winners were preditermined that acts of Auto trader seem very blatant

i believe there is a case to answer for here with CPA legislation given Auto trader have used numerous south african citizens to promote thier brand through thier efforts in a bid to win this competiton

it what seems to be a clearly unfair competiton the rules set where not followed by the judges and Auto trader

i myself as a consumer watch blogger will be forwarding this to consumer watch im sure my friend Wendy knowler will be all of this in a heart beat

to all te contenstants that followed the rules i simpithize with you for all your effort

lets see if we can get Auto Trader to do the right thing and rectify this injustice
