Company website has been compromised

Hi

I recently made use of the company website to search for a car in hopes of purchasing one. I found a car that I liked and email the owner.

The dufus sent me pictures of a car that I had seen before on another website and he was trying to string me along, so I played along until I asked him for his details and he gave me the dumbest excuse in the world and I quote " Sorry i don't speak English, I use google translate from English to French and i just hope you understand thanks and God bless you...".

Please secure your website more, validate posts or something because right now I am not impressed with the level of user safety on the site.

Hi Vuyo

Thanks for sending this through, we do currently have a process in place whereby ads go through scrutiny before going live, unfortunately some ads slip through this verification process. This is the reason why we post safety tips on our site (you can view these here: http://www.autotrader.co.za/safety-and-security)

We also post the latest **** warnings to keep customers alert of latest ****s we are aware of (you can view these here: http://www.autotrader.co.za/latest-****s) in order to protect our customers.

Please can you email the seller details (if you still have the email you sent them) so we can investigate further. You can email them to ***

Thanks and have a good day further
The AutoTrader team.

Hi Vuyo

Our head of sales will call you again this morning.

We have checked on our system for the gmail address you supp**** us with (www.autotrader.co.za)

Antoinette from our offices will be in contact to find out if any other email addresses or phone numbers were used. We can then check on these too.

As mentioned, all our ads do go through a scrutiny process, so this information will help us find out if an advert went through incorrectly as well as help us tighten process if this is the case.

Thanks
The AutoTrader team.
