Disgraceful service from Auto Mecca car dealership in Gezina, Pretoria.

On the 12th of April 2018 we purchased a vehicle from Auto Mecca 2, located at number 525 Johan Heyns Drive, Gezina, through our business and we would like to share with you what we experienced throughout the process. To begin with the, car ticked all the boxes. It had low milage, it was priced within our budget, it was in good condition and the service was friendly from the salesmen (Kimon Georgiou and Nicholas Prelorenzo) so we signed on the dotted line. On the day of collection we realised that the one tyre had a bubble in it and we also realised that there was no license disc nor temporary license plate on the car after leaving the dealership. The tyre was replaced on the following day and we were told that the newly obtained license disc was lost while at the wash bay so they issued us with a temp license plate. These two mishaps seemed minor so we brushed it off, but things just simply went downhill from the here. We were promised the Roadworthy Certificate that we requested after collecting the vehicle and the new License Disc within 5-7 days which we agreed to. Please understand that these are crucial documents needed in order to get the vehicle business-ready. A week went by and we hadn't heard a word from Auto Mecca so we mailed Kimon, the Dealer Principal at Auto Mecca 2, to remind him. In Kimon's reply he said they would have the paperwork ready within 5-7 days - bare in mind that we were told the same thing the previous week, so a whole week went by without any progress and our business was losing out on income daily. We expressed our disappointment with the service we were receiving along with the losses it had caused and asked Kimon to please escalate the matter to his senior. We received an arrogant reply starting with the words: "You obviously don’t understand the process." He basically blamed the bank for the delays, there were indeed delays from the bank but this didn’t affect the fact that Auto Mecca took more than two weeks to provide us with vital documents they had promised to provide to us within seven days, and all this was AFTER the bank had already transferred the funds into their account so there were no hold ups from the bank in this instance. Other things that were mentioned in the mail were: - "The old disc on the car was expired (and not registered to VIMA) hence the reason you get a permit. The permit is valid for 3 weeks and the car is legal on the road as such." - Initially they said the disc that was lost was new. - "I am the owner at Auto Mecca 2, if there is something you don’t understand please feel free to contact me and I can clarify the process again to you." - I clearly remember really liking one of the motorcycles on the display and Kimon telling me "That one belongs to the boss", So who is the actual boss here? On the 23rd April (11 days after we received the car) Kimon sent us this: "Hi I have attached a copy of your Natis document. The original is with Nedbank. I had a meeting with dekra this morning about the roadworthy story. Will get a copy of the actual certificate today and forward it to you. Regards Kimon Georgiou Tel: ********** 525 Johan Heyns Drive, Gezina" Due to all the delays we decided to get the roadworthy certificate done at our own expense, R512 to be exact and it took literally an hour :) Thanks Auto Mecca, You promised to take 7 days to do a one hour job and still you couldn't keep to your word. We then discovered that the cover underneath the steering wheel was loose and was held together with a white sticky substance (clearly a backyard quick fix) and we notified Nicholas as Kimon was on holiday, Nick said they would handle the issue as soon as Kimon returns from his holiday, it's been two weeks since his return and still no word from them. Today (8th May) the battery of the car packed up, We didn't bother informing them as this would probably take another 6 months to resolve and we are tired of their arrogance and disrespect we’ve received from them so we ended up paying R1 250,00. The attitude and disrespect we've received from Auto Mecca has been disgraceful, they treated us like long time friends before the funds were transferred then like dogs when they had their money. In one instance Nicholas verbally abused my business partner, swearing at him and calling him all sorts of things such as ‘boykie’ all because he questioned the progress of the tasks Auto Mecca had promised to fulfil and because he expressed our dissatisfaction with the service from Auto Mecca2.

Needless to say, we'll never do business with them again and would advise you (the reader) to make a wise decision and stay away from these guys.
