Bad service, money wasted

On 30 January 2015 we were referred to AutoMax to replace a faulty ECU unit on our Jeep. At the time she was deemed a non-runner because of the ECU unit, but the engine was sound. <br> <br> We were informed that they could not replace the ECU unit but would install a spitronics unit which would solve all problems. <br> <br> R18000.00 and almost 3 months later the vehicle is driving, but none of the electronics were connected. <br> When I questioned Mr Haslam about this, he became rude and condescending, informing me that his only job was to get the engine running and that the electronics were not his problem. At no point during our 3 month dealings with them did they ever communicate this fact with us. It now seems that the spitronics unit is not sufficient and that I have wasted my money.<br> <br> When I mentioned that I was unhappy and planned on posting a bad review on Google, Mr Haslam threatened me with legal action and boasted that he sits on the Automotive Board and would ensure that no mechanic ever dealt with me again.<br> <br> I trusted AutoMax to be professional and forthcoming as I am clearly not a mechanic. They took my money and offered me bad service, huge losses and legal threats in return.
