Groupon service worth R1000 quoted for R11500

I booked a major service with Groupon with this Garage for R1000 and was promptly assisted by the Garage to bring in my car for the service, I took my Renault Clio in and after about an hour returned to find out that they had checked the car and had a list of problems, in all fairness I knew that my car needed some major parts replaced what I did not bargain for was the price tag that I was quoted. After some precarious looks and a few whispers here and there got given a quote of R11,500 to get everything fixed on my car. Being in the sales game for a number of years myself I can spot a sales pitch and close. I then went away and got a second opinion only to be quoted half the price by another mechanic. I then told them that I was not going to fix my car with them, they then quickly finished my service not honoring about 70% of the service items they had listed. It seems that the Groupon service is a luring tool to get customers in the garage where they can be ripped to shreds into quotes. They actually had a sales guy there Tony objection handling for me to do the job with them. Please be weary when taking your car for these services, its way to get you there to upsell you.
