Auto King in Paarden Eiland claim to be an AA certified pre-owned dealer. (https://www.autoking.co.za/why-choose-an-aa-certified-pre-owned-dealer/) After test driving it, I expressed verbal interest in buying a car at the dealership and paid a holding fee of R2500. I did not sign any offer to purchase or any other document. They did not state that the deposit was not refundable. The dealer wanted to sell the car at the new mileage which turned out to be 1221 kms more, than the mileage on the AA certified report. The original report stated problems with the brakes and windscreen wipers. No proof was given of any with a new updated 125 point AA certified check at the new mileage. I decided not to buy the car and asked for my deposit back. They refused saying that they had incurred roadworthy costs. I wrote, and asked them for invoiced proof of their costs and they have not responded. I've reported them to the AA. Other complaints to other relevant bodies will follow. This is your warning to avoid them. They are not transparent nor honest.
