********* Practice (all evidence of communication has been recorded).

In summary: - Prepare to constantly follow up with the dealer as their communication is NOT proactive. - Keep records of communication as the dealer "changes their mind" and goes back against agreements.

23/02/2019 I visited Auto Integrity to view a vehicle that had been advertised. Although their website as well as the Google listing state that they open at 8am, they only opened at 9am. regardless, I waited.

The salesman could not budge on the price, but he did say that his boss agreed to do a service, since the vehicle was due for a service. I agreed to purchase the vehicle for the marked price of R149 990, provided that full service history (as per the advert) be provided as well as what the ‘service’ will cover. I informed the salesman that I would be taking up finance with Standard Bank. He told me that they do not deal with Standard Bank, however, he will gladly invoice me from another dealership that they work with, who is loaded onto Standard Bank. I signed the Offer to purchase for R149 990.

I app**** for finance the same day and sent him my pre-approval. I awaited the dealer code from this ‘other dealership’, together with the service confirmation and the service history.

25/02/2019 08:37 Sent a reminder to the salesman to forward me the information as agreed. 08:39 His response: “Morning will send it shortly, im still on my way to work”

Nothing was sent that day.

26/02/2016 08:02 Sent another reminder. 09:15 His response: Leme call

At 14:34 I had to follow up AGAIN, as my bank had approved the finance, subject to getting the dealer code from the salesman. 15:27: Salesman says he has the service history and asks for my email address.

STILL NOTHING SENT.

27/02/2019 09:40 I sent a reminder to get the dealer code as my private banker was awaiting this in order to process the payment.

STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED SERVICE HISTORY, DEALER CODE OR CONFIRMATION OF WHAT WILL BE SERVICED.

28/02/2019 Service history was sent to me by the salesman. It indicated that the last service was done at 70 000km. The last fuel filter change was at 40 000km. I called the salesman and again asked for the dealer code and informed him that the service should include the fuel, air, oil and micro filter. He agreed that all of this will done in the service. I have every phone call recorded as proof.

I was finally provided with an Invoice with a dealer code that I could use for my bank. Auto Integrity got the invoice from ‘Platinum Wheels’. To my shock, the purchase price had now risen to R177 190!!! R27000 more than what we agreed on. R27000 more than what was advertised!

After sending this back to the salesman, he informed me that Platinum Wheels will charge me a facilitation fee. I have no idea how this became my problem????

01/03/2019 Salesman informed me that nothing can be done and if I want to finance with Standard Bank, I will need to pay the extra R27 000 to Platinum Wheels. Is this even legal?? I agreed to do a cash deal and trade in my old vehicle instead.

I received a trade in price and paid the full difference of the vehicle in cash. The salesman informed me that the service will be done on Saturday 02/03/2019 (remember that he had agreed to having all filters changed). But he will deliver the car on Monday 04/03/2019 **********

04/03/2019 08:33 I messaged to check what time he will arrive at my work place as I have all the documentation printed and filled out. 08:39 His response: K cool still in the meeting after that I come through

I call at 11:49 to find out where he is and he informs me that the service was not done on Saturday and he is waiting for them to finish. I receive a call at 14:46 to say that he is in traffic and on his way. At 16:00 he arrives with the car. When I get home I check the service stamp and see that the only service that was done was an oil change!!! Not even a change to the oil filter! When I checked the oil level, it was only half full. 16:56 Salesman says he will check with the mechanic as to why nothing was changed in the service.

05/03/2019 11:00 I follow up again as there is no communication from Auto Integrity. 15:50 I get a call from the mechanic who claims that the filters were all changed at the 70 000km service at BMW. The first lie, as the salesman had already sent me the service history. I told him this was not true and sent him the service history. He said he will speak to the boss and call me tomorrow.

06/03/2019 I followed up yet again with the mechanic who said the boss agreed to have the filters changed and I should bring the car on Saturday at 8am (all this while answering another call and cutting me off while he spoke to someone named Priscilla?) P.S All telephones were recorded.

07/03/2019 Mechanic calls me to say that his boss changed his mind and they will not do a service, as agreed by the salesman.

07/03/2019 I email the Dealer Principle in an attempt to get the issue resolved.

08/03/2019 No response was received.

Thank you for taking time in rating us.

Like we have communicated to you several times we do not have a standard bank dealer code. We went out of our way in trying to  assist you with aranging finance. We out sorced it to another dealer and you received the final Price of R 177 190 as they charge an extra fee for the service. You had the option to accept or decline the offer. At the end you only payed R 149 900 for the car like it was advertised and we did not charge you service and delivery!

We also were not oblidge to do a service. Out of good will we did a basic loob service on our cost.

The BMW you traded in was involved in an accident which you never disclosed. You signed a vehicle declaration document stating that your trade in was not involved in any accident.

We insist that you bring the BMW 320d back so we can refund you.
