Very Dissappointed With My Claim Outcome

I put in a windscreen claim - which they handled wonderfully - until my brand new Suzuki Swift's front window was fitted with a generic window by Glassfit. I had to drive home with a blue tint right across the top, whereas the Suzuki's original window had an even shade to the whole windscreen.

When I asked that I wanted an original Suzuki windscreen fitted, the answer was that they could put in any windshield in my car as it does not affect the safety of the vehicle or influence performance. They are even quite sarcastic, asking me that the dealership must give them that in writing after they know that the generic windscreen does not affect both in any way. Surely my car is insured for Suzuki spare parts if I drive a Suzuki? I am not asking for a Porsche windscreen.

I am now asked to pay in the difference between the generic and the Suzuki windscreen (almost R4000) should I insist on having a Suzuki windshield installed.

Very upset with the treatment. I do not recommend Auto and General as they cannot even ensure that you get original spares fitted to your vehicle insured.

I would like to update my review: I was contacted by Auto And General after placing my review, and they agreed to replace my windscreen with a Suzuki original windscreen as per my request.

I was pertinently told that should my windscreen crack again, they will NOT replace it with another Suzuki original windscreen. I am not happy with that statement.

But for now, I have my Suzuki windscreen replaced. Thanks, Auto and General. It is just a pity one has to go to these lengths to get a complaint sorted.
