Unresolved third party claim

I have been involved in a rear-ended collision on the 15th of April 2025 at about 15;00 on a rainy day. I was legally stationary at the stop sign in Edeling Street, waiting for vehicles from my right hand side travelling Westwards in President Paul Kruger avenue, Bloemfontein, when my vehicle was rear ended. I acquired a quote for the damage amounting to R10 590,28, which includes the tow-bar replacement, but Auto & General (reference number ***) only offers to pay the amount of R6 582,72, because, according to them, my vehicle is "out of warranty", so no new parts can be fitted. Really?
