Refusing to and making excuses not to pay a claim
I borrowed my Citroen to our driver who has had his license for 35 years. Mr Matinka is a 50 year old gentleman and father of 3 kids. he had trouble getting to work and back hence the fact i borrowed him the vehicle to get from work to his home and back. on the 11th of December 2015 he asked me if he could use the car to go to Lady smith. 4 km outside Lady Smith a drunk driver with a overloaded vehicle came over onto his side of the road and caused a head on collision. the drunk driver ran away from the scene but gave him self up the following day. Mr Matinka landed up in hospital and was released the following day so thank the Lord no serious injuries. i then notified Auto and General who investigated the accident and police report. their investigator Mr van Niekerk then went the extra mile for Auto and General to come 350 km and investigate where the car is parked at night times and questioning neighbors and so forth, everything that has nothing to do with the accident that happened 350 km away from home, and know inform me that they will not be paying out a dime, leaving me with nothing. Auto and General go that extra mile NOT TO PAY. I will definitely be moving my insurance.
