Premium increase of 68%
We received an email from Auto and General informing us of the annual price increase.
I thought it was a mistake, the increase amounts to a whopping 68%.
I phoned the call centre, I spoke to an agent who explained why the increase was so much.
The best he could to was to bring it down by R67, which still amounts to a 50% increase.
He didn't seem too interested in keeping us as a customer.

Should we go looking elsewhere?

03 Mar 2016, 13:37Hello firozb,
While we would prefer to be in a position where we did not have to increase your premium at all, there are many factors that play a role in making this a necessity, as we need to be certain that we are able to indemnify you should you suffer a loss.
One of our Customer Relation Specialists as well as one of our retentions consultants has been in contact with you and the best possible premium was offered to you.
We are truly sorry that we are not in a position to offer you a better rate. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to discuss the matter with you and we invite you to make contact with our Customer Relation Specialist should you any assistance in the future.
Regards,
The Auto & General team.
