Poor Service_No value for my money

I submitted a claim for my building (Home). I have 3 insurances with Auto & General. Vehicle, Home content, and building. I submitted a claim on the building and the claim was cancelled due to maintenance. (Wear and tear) I would love to understand what is the purpose of an insurance and who do you actually pay for, I have never heard of companies and millionaires with cancelled claims but only the normal households. It feels as if we are funding these businesses' insurances claims. I had my ceiling replaced. A claim I put in last year and was told by the previous insurer that there is no leak on the roof but just built up of grass in the gutter that eventually pushed the water up and it set on the ceiling. No roof leaks and their was none because it was towards year end and still in the rainy season. Now I claim because I could hear water dripping on my new ceiling. Guess what "Maintenance" I am so tired of funding these insurances, it looks like we are giving our money away to these guys. If you forever have to fix , maintain, rebuilt, on your property out of your own pocket because you know there will forever be a maintenance issue when it comes to claims, What are you paying you for? Am I just giving my money away? What happens to the thousands of rands that you paid into these insurances. are they going to pay it back. No... I feel I am just funding insurance companies with no value for my money. I am so annoyed... You received almost R3.5 pm from me, Are you going to give any of it back since you declined my claim. I am a very honest person and always do keep my property up to date. But honesty does clearly not work in SA. Give me my premiums back so I can repair my roof with that money.
