Poor Service and Delayed Claim Payout
Title: Poor Service and Delayed Claim Payout
I am extremely disappointed with the service from Auto & General regarding my accident claim.
My accident happened on 26 July 2025. On that day, despite having full comprehensive business insurance, I was told I had no cover to assist me in getting home — leaving me stranded 4 hours outside Cape Town with no transport.
I was assured my claim payout would take 14 working days for the most, yet I have just been told the money will only reflect on Friday, 12 September 2025. This is an unacceptable delay.
I escalated my grievance to Manager Kevin on the 28th August who promised to contact me on 29th August, but he never called. I have since followed up with Dimakatso who told me she was not aware that I'm the owner of the car and not the bank for tye registration documents whereas she had the a copy of the document, she then said that once the documentbis received only then paymentbwill be made. Although the document was delivered on the 4th , I then called again on the 8th of September and asked the consultant to get Dimakatso to call me and today calling Auto and Geral agin she openly told me she “had no time” to call me back. This is completely unprofessional and shows disregard for customers.
Auto & General has failed me at every step: from the moment of the accident, to poor communication, to unkept promises, and now unreasonable delays in my payout.
I demand urgent resolution of my claim and an explanation for this treatment.
