Poor cover

The worst insurance company. They have had my claim since January and always have an excuse. At one point u couldn't get assistance because my claims provider was ill. They also required me to tell them the colour of glass. Companies that I purchased my things from have emailed and told them they have upgraded their system but they seem not to care. MTN has asked them to get a court order for my cellphone logs but they want me to do it. This is also because they've taken so long with this claim. I'm very disappointed because I've been paying for years.

Hi Sbusisiwe,

Thank you for sharing your experience, and we sincerely apologise for the frustration and delays you’ve encountered. We understand how disappointing this must be, especially as a long‑standing client. The concerns you’ve raised regarding communication, documentation requests, and the handling of your claim are not the level of service we aim to provide.
We will be in touch to discuss your concerns.

Kind Regards,
The Auto & General Team

Is auto and general refusing to assist me. I'm unable to get a hold of any of the consultants that were handling my case every day I send a email. I'm told they will get back to me. What is going on? We are on the 4th month now.

Reviewer Update
I am formally lodging a complaint against Auto & General Insurance regarding the excessive delay and lack of resolution on my insurance dispute/claim.
My matter has been pending since January 2026, and despite multiple follow-ups and acknowledgment that my complaint is under review, I have still not received a final outcome or meaningful progress.
On [insert date of their email/acknowledgment], I was informed that:
My complaint had been allocated for review
A detailed response would be provided within approximately 12 working days
An estimated feedback date was set for 7 May 2026
However, that deadline has passed without any final response, resolution, or proper explanation for the delay.
Since then, communication has been limited to generic updates such as the matter “still being attended to” or “under review,” without:
Any substantive update on the investigation
Any clear reason for the extended delay
Any revised, accountable timeframe for completion
This ongoing delay is unacceptable. It reflects poor claims handling, lack of transparency, and failure to adhere to the timelines communicated by your own internal dispute resolution process.
As a policyholder, I am entitled to timely, fair, and transparent handling of my claim. The continued delay has caused significant frustration and uncer*****y, and I am now compelled to escalate the matter publicly.
