Old claim

A little over a year ago I had to claim for damages in the roof due to the geyser's position. The house had tenants who spotted the trouble and then notified me. I called Auto & Gen and had the problem seen to. As I was not in the area and the tenants saying everything was sorted out I left it at that. A month ago the tenants moved out and I took over the house to prep it for rentals again. I noticed the ceiling had sagged and climbed into the roof. I was alarmed to see the geyser was still resting on the bent beam and that the work done wasn't up to scratch. I contacted Auto & Gen to ask what comeback I have for unsatifactory work done on a year old claim. Emails went back and forth for a couple of weeks, along with two site visits from the assesors. Cut a long story short, Chris, the Auto & Gen assesor realised there was a problem. Along with Tracey Idas, Chris knew I was on a deadline and pushed through the paper work and got quotes to redo the work. Unfortunately I did not have time to redo the ceiling but they did deposit the full amount of the quote into my bank account in order for me to get my builder to redo the work at a later stage when time permits. I was also told they do not work with that particular supplier anymore. But I think Auto & Gen can be commended for sorting this issue out after a year of the claim being closed.
