Looking for excuses not to settle
I have recently experienced a bad claim services with AA insurance, my wife's car was first hijacked and her devices were taken as well. AA Insurance declined the claim on a technical terminology. If you are insured with AA insurance and your vehicle is insured as a private use and then you go see your colleague or your boss and get into an accident or your car ******, then your claim might be rejected on a technicality. <br> <br> The only thing AA insurance settled was my wife's phone, we didn't even block the phone, but they were happy to settle it with no additional documentation request. Maybe they were just consoling us with the cellphone settlement.<br> <br> A week later I lost my phone which was also insured on the same policy, I reported the cellphone to the police station and I also blocked and gave AA the ITC number, guess what now, they requested an itemized billing and their reason is: \Unfortunate because this is a new policy we will require certain documentation as proof or purchase or contrac/when last used"<br> This phone is on the same policy as my wife's phone which they settle a week earlier"
Thank you for your comments.
As per our discussion we can confirm that the rejection of your claim for the vehicle as well as items inside the vehicle was discussed with you in further detail.
We have noted that there is different requirements on your current claim as opposed to the claim for the cell phone that was taken during the hijacking. This is due to the fact that the first loss was investigated and confirmed during the administration of the hijacking claim.
The merits of the second loss is different from the first loss, hence different information will be required in order to validate the claim.
Our claims department will be in a position to finalise your claim as soon as they are in possession of all relevant required information.
