Insurance cancellation not actioned

Hi My name is Young Chara, l cancelled my insurance with Auto and General last month. I sent them an email which was delivered. They have made a deduction to my account which i think is not fair given that l gave them adequate notice of cancellation. Their deliberate attempt to ignore my email and continue with the deductions of premiums is not acceptable.
