Excess is nearly as much as the windscreen replacement

Hi, could you explain why the excess on a R1260 PG Autoglass window is R975? Why even bother, then get a message:

"if you referring to our comprehensive cover then standard windscreen excess is R1290 but clients can reduce that down to R300."

Thanks.

Get real or we start looking for alternative insurance. Plus we expected to take 15 minutes answering questions and junk to replace a windscreen? Hate to know if it was an accident etc how many hoops we would have to jump through.

Is this a ******* or not?

Need to claim from Auto and General for a windscreen.

Get two quotes:

1. PG Auto glass either R1260 or R1460. 2. Glasfit who does AG claims R1800.

Phone Auto and General, our excess is R975 opposed to others in the industry at R300.

Get a call from Glasfit who quote me R2800, enquire why and get told no there are two different prices, one for insurance as they on top of the price add the excess amount = R2800 or a cash price R1800 which is already more expensive than PG for a similar type windscreen, but the thing is why are quotes are doctored to mislead people as AG actually is basically not paying for the windscreen as they add the excess on top of the selling price, we also know AG gets a better price than we as the pubic do.

To me the price should be R1800 of which R975 forms price of the price, opposed to a falsely inflated price.

No one can explain as to why there are two price structures, basically our excess is 80% or so of the full price, why have insurance then?

We have been loyal customers, dont abuse that as this is not a fair ratio on cost of part to cost of excess, its tailored to look after you and not your customers.

And still being shoved from pillar to post by Glasfit who accept the repair, make arrangements etc. Then phone and say without asking they now want a different branch to do it, that branch says a week or so is their waiting time, which is exactly why I did not want to use that branch. Eventually get so peaved with Glasfit that a person starts totally loosing ones cool, which suddenly offends the person messing you around. Honestly what a pain for a simple task. Two days down the line and Glasfit still playing ping pong with our claim.
