Auto and General feedback not forthcoming but saved by Shafeeq Anter!!!!

So since my last recorded events with Auto&General as previously posted by myself, I was called by Dorothy immediately after posting my complain. This was Friday and unfortunately could not engage in the conversation relating to my complain as my cab had arrived to collect my rental vehicle. She agreed to call me back on Monday to which she did and said she would investigate and get back to me.

I also got a call back from Kele yesterday to say she indeed spoke with Nazeer and was awaiting an invoice from the towing company and would get back to me. Today I called in to follow up and no one from the towing department could give me details. I spoke to a lady named Zandi who was not sure about anything but decided to contradict what Kele had confirmed. Zandi made it known to me that I would have to deal with the unauthorized towing company myself and once all costs are paid to them I would need to call back and advise my insurance to arrange towing of the vehicle.

This contradiction by Zandi ****ed me as on interaction with Kele and Lebogang it was made it clear that my insurance would be in a better position to negotiate with the towing company and get back to me should there be a difference that I needed to pay for costs relating to the vehicle. Kele even assured me that any costs incurred daily since I had let them know and submitted my claim would not be charged to me.

Just Shortly after ending my initial call I then called back to only to speak to Shafeeq Anter who has managed to save the day. He managed to give all the feedback required and then some additional information just for reference purposes. He also went as far as sending me all relevant documentation relating to my claim and the invoice from AHE Towing using his direct email address. He confirmed that there is nothing I can do at this stage and I should let the insurance deal with AHE Towing and that they would cover ALL relevant costs with NO charge to me...

What a great relief it is speaking to Shafeeq who is well informed and can advise on a variety of issues. This started off as a complain but this man has saved the day. If I could rate Shafeeq alone I would say he deserves 5 stars!!!

Unfortunately I cannot say the same for Auto&General until a final speedy outcome is concluded.

Reviewer Update
So since my last update, I must admit that my faith in my insurer is being redeemed. As promised on Monday, Dorothy managed to call back to give me an update regarding my claim and with regards to my tracking company. She indeed confirmed that they were taking up my case with them and had found sufficient evidence to hold them liable on numerous counts relating to their inability to respond to me in time of need. On Tuesday a lady called Pamela called me to let me know that she was finalising the claim and would be submitting it to her manager for approval. I am assuming that the claim has been approved as the vehicle has been sent to a repairer who got in touch yesterday to let me know the car would soon be in their possession. Having previously made it clear upon submitting my claim to my insurer that I am not entirely sure of the extent of the damages to the vehicle as the accident had happened at night, I was advised that the insurer would be able to assess the vehicle and proceed with repairs that are related to the accident. The only problem with this is that I still had the car keys and was wondering if the assessor from the insurance would be able get to everything. This morning just before 11h00 I made to the repairer to hand over the keys and collect a few of my other personal belongings in the car. As I opened and closed the doors of the vehicle I noted further damages to the vehicle and began to freak out as these could have gone un-noted. Furthermore I noted that my petrol tank was running on empty and began to wonder if it had been emptied as standard procedure or perhaps maybe it had suffered a leak as I had filled it up before the accident. As soon as possible I called back the insurer at the claims department only to speak to a gentleman called Tumelo who transferred me to the repairs department to lodge my concerns with a lady called Kekeletso. Kekeletso was kind enough to advise that I shouldn’t be too worried as the repairer would log further damages and add them to the claim and when approved repairs would be done. Within an hour of having ended my previous call, Pamela called me back today to give me feedback on everything and confirm that indeed my claim has been approved and that repairs would be done. She also noted that the additional damages that would be found by the repairer would be fixed in as long as they related to the accident and that I shouldn’t be too worried. Pamela assured me that it is their responsibility to ensure that I am returned to the same position I was in just before the accident took place. What a relief to hear this. My journey relating to this with my insurer started out on a scary note but I must say they are redeeming themselves and for this I am willing to give them all the time they need to give me my Baby just as she was before the accident. Many will say it is not over until the fat lady sings but perhaps my story will indeed have a happy ending… So far they have redeemed themselves. Good Job guys!!!
